Randy Boys

Chair

Randy Boys
Term Expires: February, 2026

Comment from Randy: "Energy is fundamental to providing clean water, food, commerce, our expected quality of life, fertile democracies, … everything.  (Read up on Texas' laureate and could-be-laureate Smalley and Webber; they say it better.)  Equitable access to energy ... clean energy ... is something towards which everyone should be striving.  Big and little efficiencies are within our grasp.  Please take the time to find out what you can do, including the causes that you can support.  As for me, I’m a research scientist turned engineer, first for TI/Raytheon and then Oncor Electric Delivery, and will enjoy seeing massive prosumer behavior drive distributed electrification while we await a hydrogen economy (and we *will* be waiting; it’s still … always? … a generation away).  As a Texas Master Naturalist and volunteer with multiple youth and conservation groups, I look forward to passing the baton to the next generation, now with all the new energy source, utilization, and storage tricks!"

Comment from Eric: "My wife Suzie and I joined NTREG in 2016. I'm a Mechanical Engineer with 30+ years of design experience in the aerospace industry. Energy efficiency is one of my core interests along with energy generation by sustainable means. Through training at Solar Energy International, I gained a basic knowledge of photovoltaic systems. I supported the educational work of NTREG as a volunteer, and now as a member of the Board of Directors."

Treasurer

The Treasurer accounts for all items received for, and disbursements made from the funds assigned. Michael Fladmark

Treasurer

Michael Fladmark
Term Expires: February, 2026

Comment from Michael: "I was originally appointed as a Program Coordinator during the July 2019 NTREG Board meeting. Prior to that I was serving as a Member At Large in my first elected term as a Board Member. In January, 2021, I offered to take on the duties of Treasurer when Robert Litwins, our elected treasurer, had to step aside for personal reasons."

Program Coordinators (two)
Program Coordinators
Manage meeting programs and topics, schedule guest speakers, and ensure the necessary equipment is available for the presenter(s). Program Coordinators also make sure the meeting room is set up in advance of each meeting. Two people serve as a team to support each other. If one is busy in a given month, the other can take charge. Most often, they work together to brainstorm ideas, to poll our meeting members and ask what topics would be of interest at future meetings.

Bill Byrom

Program Co-Coordinator

Bill Byrom
Term Expires: February, 2026

Comment from Bill: "I became a member of NTREG, TXSES, and ASES in early 2017. I retired in late 2019 after 32 years at Tektronix as an Applications (Electrical) Engineer. While in elementary school in Austin during the 1960's, I had an International Rectifier "S4M" silicon solar cell, "EP-50" solar drive motor, and solar radio experimenter's kit. I'm a member of AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), and a member of the IEEE P1765 (uncertainty in EVM) Standards Committee Working Group. I'm the current Vice President of the Irving Amateur Radio Club, and Membership Director of the North Texas chapter of the National Space Society. I'm currently building a new house in Irving (as of February, 2022), which will have a solar power system and Lithium-Iron-Phosphate energy-storage system battery. My main vehicle is a Ford Fusion PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle)."

Comment from Mark: "I've been a NTREG member for years, and a former Board member of TXSES. I've been passionate about energy efficiency and renewable energy since I was in high school. NTREG members have an incredible amount of knowledge and experience related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, and electric vehicles. I believe we can and should do a better job of sharing our knowledge with outside groups to help their members become more energy efficient and understand the benefits of renewable energy and electric vehicles."
